After simple heating step, the contaminated RNase in RNA solution will be eliminated. The treated RNA can be used in all kinds of applications, including northern blot, cDNA synthesis and RT-PCR.     Instructions:   To resuspend the dried RNA pellet: dilute RNA-Defense to 1X concentration with nuclease-free water, ( e.g., to make 1ml of 1X reagent, use 50μl of RNA-Defense and 950μl of water) incubate the solution at 65°C for 20 min to remove the RNase contamination of water and bottle, store the remaining 1X reagent at -20°C for later use. Add 1X reagent to the pellet and incubate the solution at 65°C for 20 min, pipetting or flicking the tube until completely dissolve, store the RNA sample at -20°C. See note. For RNA in solution: add ( 20X ) RNA- Defense Reagent to final 1X concentration in purified RNA solution, ( e.g., 50μl RNA solution solution, add about 2.6μl of RNA- Defense Reagent) incubate the solution at 65°C for 20 min, store the RNA sample at -20°C. See note.         Note: 1. After initial treatment, if RNA sample is suspected to RNase contamination after each use, reheat the sample at 65°C for 20 min. Multiple reheat steps will not affect the efficiency of RNA-Defense Reagent. 2. Do not heat over 65°C, over-heating may impair RNA intact. 3. To measure OD260/280 of RNA in RNA- Defense reagent, use 1X regent as blank to prevent the background.
